Paediatric Dentist in Paris 12
Good habits from the start
Because our young patients deserve their own paediatric dentist, our practice provides a team of paediatric dentists who are qualified and highly experienced in caring for the very young. Your child will feel confident and reassured during their visit to Cabinet Dentaire 10 Prague in Paris 12.
The main goal of our practice is to give the child a fun experience while providing quality care.
It is recommended to schedule your child's first dental visit as soon as the first teeth appear.
This recommendation from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry helps anticipate and prevent the development of oral conditions. Moreover, if the child comes to become familiar with the chair and the dentist without being in pain, the consultation will be easier when the time comes.
To fight cavities, the most common chronic disease in children, we have adopted the CAMBRA method (Caries Management By Risk Assessment), developed by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry for more than 15 years.
This bacterial disease affects both primary dentition (in children aged 2 to 5) and permanent dentition (in children aged 11).
Using the CAMBRA method, our team of paediatric dentists determines the cavity risk and sets the frequency of visits for your child every 12, 6 or 3 months. Indeed, dental cavities can progress quickly in children, without symptoms or pain.
During these visits, the dentist and the dental hygienist will work to establish a relationship of trust with your child and will examine the teeth, clean them, and review brushing techniques with the child.
How does the visit to the paediatric dentist work?
The paediatric dentist examines the inside of the child's mouth to detect the presence of cavities on the visible surfaces of the teeth. This observation allows them to assess the oral health of their young patient and propose treatment if necessary.
Based on the results of the visual analysis and your child's age, the paediatric dentist sets the treatment plan.
The first treatment session consists of 5 steps:
- Familiarising the child with the practice and team. This is the most sensitive phase.
- The dentist explains to the child what a tooth is, how a cavity forms, and how to brush teeth.
- After checking the child's oral hygiene, the practitioner performs a tooth cleaning.
- Carrying out a visual examination with the help of an intraoral camera and applying a fluoride varnish to protect tooth enamel.
- Depending on the condition of the teeth, the children's dentist performs an X-ray. During this phase, the paediatric dentist carries out preventive treatment of the child's cavities.
The first visit can last up to 45 minutes.
Once the appointment is over, and when the oral health condition requires intervention, a second appointment is scheduled with the patient's parent alone:
- The paediatric dentist explains the treatment plan to act early and avoid secondary anomalies and any complications, the preventive and prophylactic actions to plan, and their frequency.
- The administrative staff details the invoice and coverage (CPAM and supplemental insurance).
