Orthodontics in Paris 12

The ideal treatment for optimal dental health

Have you noticed something wrong (or different) about your child's teeth? Has your child's school dentist, family dentist, or speech therapist advised you to consult an orthodontist in Paris 12 ?

Orthodontic treatment has two main goals. First, it aims to restore physiological functions such as chewing, swallowing, breathing, and speech. Then it improves facial and smile aesthetics.

Orthodontics is a dental specialty aimed at correcting dental malpositions and jaw deformities. The orthodontic treatment aims to: optimise the stability of tooth positions, improve facial aesthetics, and of course ensure a beautiful smile.

The orthodontist uses the method best suited to the patient's age and needs so that care is delivered comfortably and serenely.

For children, we recommend a first visit to the orthodontist before permanent teeth appear, which is called interceptive orthodontics, around the age of 6. However, orthodontic treatment usually cannot begin until around age 10.

Interceptive orthodontics aims primarily to regulate tooth position to achieve balanced jaw growth and oro-facial function before age 11 (growth peak), and to create space for tooth alignment.

Correction of tooth positioning and oro-facial functions is done by wearing a removable appliance. Depending on the child's or teenager's morphology and development, the orthodontist chooses the appropriate care.

Appareil orthodontique amovible

Orthodontics with removable appliances

Before the eruption of permanent teeth, we generally use removable appliances to treat children before age 11.

Appareil orthodontique fixe

Orthodontics with fixed appliances

To achieve a beautiful smile, we recommend fixed appliances for teenagers and adults.

How does orthodontic treatment work?

Over time, pain from misaligned teeth can become debilitating and reduce your enjoyment of life. Visit your orthodontist to address this situation.

Our practice located in Paris 12, specialised in orthodontic treatment for children, teenagers and adults, will meet your needs and exceed your expectations. The first appointment takes place in five phases:

  • Discussion with the patient or parent to understand their perceptions and expectations.
  • Oral health examination (clinical exam).
  • Visual examination using jaw photographs.
  • Complete diagnosis of teeth and gum health using two X-rays.
  • Digital impressions of the jaw.

The average duration of a first appointment is about 1 hour.

Once the first appointment is completed, a second appointment is scheduled. During this second meeting:

  • The orthodontist establishes a treatment plan that they communicate to the patient and explains the care to undertake to act early and avoid secondary anomalies and any malocclusion.
  • The administrative staff details the cost and explains the coverage procedures (CPAM and supplemental insurance).
